Bringing the world to Bellows Falls since 2004
Our Regular Season, September through May: We are currently presenting our 13th season of concerts. Stone Church Arts was founded by Eugene Friesen, our Artistic Director, The Rev. Margaret Crane, and Robert McBride (a current Board member) in 2004. Eugene sometimes tells the story that he was visiting Bellows Falls, walking around the Square downtown, and, looking up, he saw the pinnacled tower of Immanuel Episcopal Church. He walked south and found the stairs up to Church Street, and found the church doors unlocked. Walking into the church sanctuary he was amazed at the warm acoustics as well as the beautiful nine foot Steinway concret grand piano in one corner. He was soon meeting with Peggy Crane and Robert McBride and Stone Church Arts was born.
Stone Church by Candlelight: Eugene also curates our new Stone Church by Candlight series which adorns the winter months. These special concerts, lit by candlelight, present world class solo artists in the warm acoustics of the church or chapel.
Stone Church Summer Music: In the summer of 2014, Eugene Friesen presented his first Creative Cello Intensive weekend workshop. His summer workshops and concerts, including free and open student concerts, have become the model upon which Stone Church Summer Music is being built. We invite active music teachers and performers to present their workshop as a part of our summer program. More information about presenting your workshop and concert in the summer months may be found HERE.
