Stone Church Center

We are up on the hill behind the Town Hall/Opera House. You can see the Town Hall with the clock tower in the photo. Immanuel Church is the Gothic building directly behind the town hall on the hill. The Retreat House and Currier Hall are next door to the church.

By Car: The center is located in the village of Bellows Falls in rural Windham County, Vermont. 

Bellows Falls is...

  • 25 miles north of Brattleboro, Vermont, Exit 5 off I91, north on Route 5
  • 40 miles south of White River Junction, Vermont, Exit 6 off  I91, south on Route 5, and 
  • 25 miles northwest of Keene, New Hampshire via Route 12, via the bridge over the Connecticut in North Walpole, NH.

By Plane: We are an hour and a half from Bradley International Airport and two and half hours from Boston Logan. Both airports are served by Thomas Transport van service which will deliver you to the retreat house. Call them toll free, 1-800-526-8143

By Train: There is an Amtrak train station in Bellows Falls serviced by The Vermonter. Click the links below for more information. The Bellows Falls Train Station is only a few minutes from the retreat center. The Vermonter arrives at 12:30 pm from points North - Essex Junction (Burlington) -- and at 5:26 pm from the south -- Washington DC and Penn Station in New York City. If you are coming from points south, you will arrive just in time for dinner at 6 pm! Please call or email us to schedule to be picked up at the train station. If you are returning home to the south on the train, you may want to book an extra night at the retreat house unless your program/event allows you to leave in time to catch the 12:30 pm train.

Here is a map of the route of the Vermonter. As you can see, if you are near Washington DC or New York City, the Vermonter will leave you nearly on our doorstep. The train is a convenient way to travel. Bellows Falls is the second stop in Vermont coming from the south, just north of Brattleboro. Stone Church Center is a five minute walk from the station, but let us know that you are coming by train and we will pick you up.
